Job 4:3-6 Think how you have instructed many, how you have strengthened feeble hands, your words have supported those who stumbled ;you have strengthened faltering knees .But now trouble comes to you and you are discouraged ,it strikes and you are dismayed, should not your piety be your confidence.
Job was an upright and a good Counsellor. He was balm for the aching soul, support for the stumbling, and strength for the feeble until terror struck his household . It was too discouraging for him.
Although he had comforted others in their afflictions, he was unable to comfort himself. We are all prone to attack regardless of the roles we’ve played in life. But even in such cases , Eliphaz puts it right into Job’s mind,”let your piety be your confidence”.
As much as we are prone to discouragements and highly erodable, our devotion to our maker makes us strong . Our confidence and hope are based on our faith in God.
