Joh 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He
abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
The expression ” without me” denotes the same as “separated from me”. As the branches, if separated from the parent stock can produce no fruits but would immediately wither and die, the same would happen if Christians are separated from Christ.
This expression strongly implies our dependence on Christ. There is nothing for a broken off branch to do than wither and die. God can do without man but man cannot do without God. It will be considered a fallacy if we separate ourselves from him and expect to survive and bear much fruit. We must endeavor to remain connected.
