Act 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
The statement above makes reference to the baptism of the Holy Spirit ( Acts 1:5). The word power here refers to all the help or aid which the Holy Spirit would grant them to enable them be His witnesses starting from Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.
When this was fulfilled, there was a total paradigm shift among the recipients. ( Acts 2:1-12) There was a major ” explosion” of the gospel and in the first day about 3000 believed in Jesus and were baptized. The uneducated, humble ordinary men did amazingly great things.
Christian friends, although not all are called to be preachers, all Christians are called to be witnesses. The Holy Spirit has been sent to us to give us power to engage the world. The power of the Holy Spirit transforms and equips the believer for “greater ” works.
