Luk 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
All authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Jesus. ( Mat 28:18). This tremendous authority is what was given to His disciples. Snakes and scorpions are very poisonous and their stings are sometimes fatal to life. They represent all kinds of evil. Having received His authority, they would be protected from all spiritual harm that Satan would try to inflict on them.
This same authority is given to all those who believe in Him. Jesus will preserve them from the power of Satan and all his emissaries- from all wicked and crafty men. This power and authority will not only guard us from all their machinations but will also destroy all their designs.
