Num 24:2 When Balaam looked out and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the Spirit of God came upon him.
Num 24 :7 “I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the sons of Sheth.
Balaam was summoned by Balak king of Moab to come and hail curses upon the Israelites. Contrary to the expectations ,he blessed them and even prophesied about the coming Messiah. He was able to see beyond the norm . He saw what would happen many generations down the line.
Its hard to see beyond the limitations of one’s eyes but it’s also possible to see beyond them as well .Paul prayed for the Ephesians that they may receive the spirit of wisdom and revelation which enlightened their eyes helping them to grasp the mystery of his riches and his inheritance for the saints(Eph 1:17-18).
Seeing only what the physical eyes can see is both temporal and deceiving and puts us in a cocoon of normal thinking, planning, normal working leading to a normal lifestyle.
There is more to life than just the norm we see. Our prayer is that God will open our eyes wide and help every believer to see beyond the ordinary. Our abilities of accessing the spiritual realms need to be activated.
