1Ki17:2The word of the Lord came to him ‘Depart from here and turn Eastward and hide yourself by the brook Cherith”
The God we serve operates in ways we don’t comprehend at times. Later, we come to see the bigger picture. Elijah told King Ahab that there would be no rain for the next few years except by his own word. God told Elijah to go hide in Kerith Ravine. While there , he was provided for despite what was happening out there. In the place of seclusion, God will still proof Himself true.
There are other characters in the Bible that God hid but finally His agenda in their lives came to pass. Joseph, the dreamer was hidden in the prison before being taken into the Palace. Moses was hidden in the wilderness before leading God’s people out of the land of captivity. God hid David in the mountains when he was being pursued by King Saul.
When God decides to hide you, He has a very good reason of doing so. The place we’re hidden may not be that comfortable, but he makes sure His provision and grace is guaranteed. The ravens are on the way with the unlimited supplies. It’s true you have been “behind the curtains” for a while. Jehovah has been preparing you for that great moment. His purposes in your life will be fulfilled.
