Act 20:35 “I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive .’ ”
The words ” It’s more blessed to give than to receive” are only found in the above scriptures. From the way Paul addressed them, it is evident that the Ephesians were already acquainted with them. This is one of the Redeemer’s most precious saying.
The only thing that differentiates our faith from others is the way we provide for the needs of the sick, the poor and the feeble . Currently, we have some in our midst who have lost their jobs and businesses as a result of the current pandemic.
The giver is blessed than the receiver because it is a privilege to give to the needs of others. Giving tends to promote the happiness of the benefactor; there is pleasure in the act of giving, when it is done with pure motives. Those who give from pure motives God will bless.( Albert Barnes NT commentary)
