Psa 3:3 But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
The Psalm begins with a lamentation. There is an increment of those who do not give him peace but trouble. His adversaries are on the rise. They are actively attacking him and openly declaring that God will not rescue him.
But David strongly shows his dependence upon God despite the opposition. He declares that Yahweh is his protector ( shield) , his glory and the one who removes his shame and restores his kingly dignity ; He is the lifter of his head.
Our dignity and honor are linked to our relationship with Yahweh and not our own strength. Believers enemies are also enemies of God. He will not allow us to be put to shame. He is the lifter of our heads.
