Ezr 4:4 Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building,
5 And hired counselors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.
The people of Judah had been released from captivity. An assignment of rebuilding the temple of God lay before them. The enemy used all manner of tactics to oppose the rebuilding.
At one point, the enemy’s tactic was feigned alliance which Judah would not take in.
The enemy will always employ different tactics in the battle.
The Jews hands were weakened by the words spoken to them by their adversaries. This was meant to discourage them from focusing on the task at hand. The enemy went a step further to hire counselors to frustrate their efforts.
When rebuilding the ruins, we have to arm ourselves with determination. We need to be wary of the enemies tactic to derail us. Like the people of Judah who did not relent despite the enemies plot, even unto us we shall achieve our purpose in God. No frustration will make us quit.
It doesn’t matter who has been hired against your mission. You are destined to achieve your goal.
