Isaiah 40: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
“They shall put forth fresh feathers like the moulting eagle”.
It has been a common and popular opinion that the eagle lives and retains his vigour to a great age; and that, beyond the common lot of other birds, he moults in his old age, and renews his feathers, and with them his youth. “Thou shalt renew thy youth like the eagle,” says the psalmist, Ps 103:5;(Adam Clarkes Commentary)
In the season of moulting, the eagle goes into Isolation ( modern day term – quarantine). It is in seclusion where it experiences a refreshment and renewal.
In this season, the Lord is doing something new in our lives as we are secluded from our normal day to day activities. It is in Isolation where we learn to wait upon the Lord to guide us on the next direction of our lives.
In this waiting, he is renewing our strength. We find ourselves having a relationship with our Father that is of a higher quality than before. He is renewing our strength so that we have the ability of mounting up with wings as eagles.
When our strength is renewed, we shall run and not get weary, we shall walk and not faint, we will have a youthful vigour!
Christian friends, we don’t have to have all the answers or figure out everything. Let us just wait patiently for the Lord and He will be found. We shall be renewed.
