1Sa 17:45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
1Sa 17:46This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.”
This was David as he approached Goliath. Unlike the Israel army, he did not disqualify himself. He had given a positive confession to Saul of how he had killed a lion and a bear. He was certainly sure that he was going to accomplish the task ahead of him successfully.
He had the right attitude. Although his bodily stature was wanting as compared to that of Goliath, he was sure the Almighty God was with him. He knew that Goliath was leaning on the arm of flesh – his stature, sword and spear.
Christian friends, however big or small the challenge is , we do not confess defeat. We also don’t lament of how bad the situation is. In all situations, we confess victory.
Rom 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
