Jos 3:15 and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest),
Jos 3:16 that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho.
This river was now broader and deeper than it was at other times of the year. The melting of snow on the mountains of Lebanon, near which this river had its rise, was the occasion at the time of harvest. Jordan had overflowed all it’s banks. It was this flood that magnified the power of God and his kindness to Israel.
This was a great act of faith! They did not ask how it would happen; they obeyed. As soon as their feet dipped in the brim of water, the stream stopped immediately. The waters above swelled and stood on a heap. The priests stood still in the midst of Jordan while all the people passed over.
When time comes for you to enter your promised land, that’s when you encounter many challenges. It’s during this “flooding season” that God has ordained for you to cross over “your Jordan “. When you land on the other side, you will look back and say , ” surely , this is the doing of the Lord”.
