Jdg 16:22 However, the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaven.
Jdg 16:28 Then Samson called to the LORD, saying, “O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!”
Finally after Delilah was convinced that Samson had told her the truth; that his strength came from his Nazarite vow, symbolized by his uncut hair, she summoned the Philistine leaders who shaved Samson’s head. With the final element of his Nazarite vow gone, his power was lost.
Samson was carried off for exile in Gaza. His eyes were removed and his strength was put to work in their service, grinding grain. However, in the midst of his hopeless situation, there was a ray of hope; his hair began to grow again.
Oblivious of what was happening in Samson’s life, the Philistines gathered to offer sacrifice to Dagon, their god for delivering Samson in their hand. And while in their high spirits called Samson out of the prison to perform for them and stood him among the pillars.
Samson prayed to the Lord to remember him and strengthen him just one more time. To remember means not simply only to think about someone, but to also act on their behalf. His strength came back again. The dead that he killed in his death were more than he had killed in his life thus fulfilling his destiny.
Christian friends, this is not a season for mourning for the loss of our jobs, businesses, health, income, lockdown of our places of worship etc. Our God has remembered us once again. Our enemies might have written us off. Others might be busy celebrating our downfall. Behold , we are bouncing back again like never before!
