Heb 12:7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined ( and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons
Every child needs discipline. No one cares about disciplining illegitimate children because they will not inherit anything. Every parent would like to train their sons and daughters well because they know that one day, they will be given great responsibility.
If we are being disciplined by God, it is because we are sons. He is disciplining us because he is preparing us for great responsibilities. He is also not doing it because he hates us, no, it is because he loves us. He disciplines us so that we may share in his Holiness.
Whatever troubles and persecutions that God allows to come to us are for our own good. He will never allow any trial to come our way which we may not endure. God’s discipline is a sign of his love for us.
Our God sustains the relationship of a father. Everyone of God’s sons stands in need of fatherly chastisement. If we have not experienced any type of discipline in our lives then we have a course to wonder whether or not we are God’s children.
