Isaiah 40:28
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
In the beginning of this chapter, God commands his servant Isaiah to comfort His people who were in captivity. Why do God’s people need comforting? Because we are weak. Our weakness leads to our weariness.
When God comforts his people, He reminds them of His greatness. Our outlook is limited, in that, “I get upset because the problem is too great for me to solve”. But is it too great for God?(Pastor Chuck Smith).
The greatness of our God is infinite and unfathomable. His understanding of situations is beyond searching. No dictionary, online search engine can explain an ounce of his understanding, as explained in 1Co1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
Our God is everlasting (El-Olam) – If He was there for His children and rescued them then, He will come and save us too today for he neither faints nor does he get weary.
