Ps 37:1 Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
It is easy to be tempted to jump into the wagon of corruption and ascend to riches in a short time. We hear of scandals involving embezzlement of funds where the wicked loot. It seems a quick way of gaining wealth and living a posh life. It is very tempting to covet plunderers as they seem to prosper.
Workers of iniquity are compared to grass. Grass is a temporal plant as it shoots quickly ready to blossom but after a short while it withers. Dubious deals may seem a quick means of striking a jack pot but watch as it does not have longevity. It may seem like God is slow to judge the wicked as they go scot free but their reward is coming.
The righteous path may not be popular but the end results are far much rewarding. The true path delights joy everlasting. The future of the righteous is secure in God who establishes them and satisfies them with long life filled with His goodness. Don’t envy the wicked but pursue righteousness in the current world speckled by corruption.
