Psa 27:4 One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.(NKJV)
David’s greatest desire and motivation was to dwell in the house of the Lord. He literary sought for an opportunity to spend time in the house of the Lord.
This desire was so great, that he purposed to build a magnificent house for the Lord. Since he was a man of war, the Lord forbade him from doing so and appointed his son Solomon to build it. Nevertheless, David relentlessly went ahead to gather all the materials that would be needed for the temple.
It is every worshipper’s obligation to “behold the beauty of the Lord. “Oh,how good it is to deeply sense his presence and get to feel his love encompass around his children as they tarry in the place of prayer”.
We behold his beauty as we praise and worship the Lord, inquire of him and spend quality time with him. From such a close and intimate relationship with our heavenly father, we realize that He is all we need and our ultimate source of blessings.
Psa 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.
