Mat 17:21 “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Down at the foot of the mountain, the disciples were presented with a case of a boy with an evil spirit. The disciples frantically tried to cast out the spirit, but they could not. When Jesus came down, he rebuked the spirit and the boy was healed.
Later, the disciples asked Jesus why they could not drive it out. One of the reasons he had given earlier was lack of faith( Mat 17:17). Jesus preceded to explain that they needed to combine prayer with fasting for effective results.
Desperate situations calls for desperate measures. There is hidden power when prayer is combined with fasting. When We fast we receive more power, more guidance and more spiritual blessings
