1Sa 1:13 Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk.
Hannah had gone through traumatic ridicule orchestrated by her co-wife Peninah. The fact that she was unable to conceive and bring forth children must have given her sleepless nights. She could not discuss what she was going through publicly because it could probably add more problems than solutions.
Fortunately, Hannah knew where to direct her concerns. She knew that Yahweh could hear both the spoken and unspoken prayers. She spoke in her heart; only her lips moved. The God who sees the heart heard her clearly and answered her prayers. In the process of time, she conceived and bore a son.
The scenario could be the same today ; unmet needs and desires that may have caused you ridicule, anxiety and sleepless nights. Some are too sensitive to be shared because people may end up misunderstanding you. But there is a God in heaven who answers the unspoken prayers. He even meets and attends to all our unspoken desires.
