1Ki 3:19 “And this woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on him. 1Ki 3:20 “So she arose in the middle of the night and took my son from my side, while your maidservant slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
This two women who stayed in the same house gave birth to sons within three days of one another. While they slept, one of them overlaid on her son and he died. She arose in the middle of the night, while this other slept, took her son from her side and laid him on her bosom.
When the aggrieved woman “woke up” up in the morning to nurse her baby, she found him dead. Upon close examination, she found out that he was not the son whom she had given birth to. She had to refer the matter to the king for determination .
It is during the time of our ” sleep and slumber ” that we lose our blessings. It’s during those moments when our blessings are exchanged and in return we receive those that are not ours. If we sleep , we risk losing our families, income and possessions. We must remain awake in the place of prayer, faith and in fellowship with our God.
