Jer 8:4 “Moreover you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the LORD: “Will they fall and not rise? Will one turn away and not return?
It’s natural for people to wake up after falling down ;they don’t remain in the dirt. They wake up very fast and clean their dirt. When travellers miss their way, they return as soon as they are aware of it. But this was not so with the unrepentant Israel.
For so long as we are in this life, we are prone to making mistakes. Some may be in deep problems as a result sins , mistakes and errors we have committed. Unfortunately ,we take too long to arise in repentance.
If we attend to the dictate of our conscience, we will do the most natural thing. Instead of running away from God, we will “approach the throne of grace with confidence that we may obtain mercy in our time of need.”
The moment we realize that we have gone away from the way that leads to life, the best thing to do is to go back to God in repentance. “He is merciful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness ” Don’t run away from him; instead, run to him!
