Mat 5:23 “Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, Mat 5:24 “leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
Jesus taught us that love precedes religious rituals. Before we come to God to worship, pray and offer our gifts and offerings, we must first confess and make right our ill feelings against our brethren.
If we wrong those people we interact with in any way, we must first make that right before presenting ourselves and our gifts to God. Treating our brothers and sisters without love or even have unloving thoughts about them is a sin.
Before we come to worship , pray, and present our gifts before God, we must first clear any “road blocks” that can lead to outright rejection of our very acts of worship. We must not let any personal disagreement or misunderstanding remain between us.
We must remove the unforgiving spirit that separates us and replace it with the spirit of forgiveness and love.
