Isa 30:21 Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
In life, we have several things we use to show us direction to a given location.
A compass has been used to give direction and has been used in time immemorial by travelers to navigate their paths whether on land or in the sea. Sometimes we use people by asking them for direction so that we are not lost or confused.
Today, the technology has advanced to a level that we can access a compass on our mobile phones, in our cars, on our computers easily through the use the GPS (Global positioning System) which is a satellite navigation system that tells you where you are on Earth and the exact distance in kilometers or miles of your preferred destination. It also tells you how much time it would take for you to get there, when using your preferred means of transport. It will highlight how the traffic is moving on a given road at a specific time.
With this privilege of knowing how to get to where we are going, which means to use, how much time it will take for us to get to our destination, which alternative route we should use at our finger tips, unfortunately the system cannot help us in making other life’s decisions. We never have the full picture and outcome of our lives. We only take one step at a time, one day at a time.
We have the privilege of having the Holy Spirit as our guide and our compass. The Holy Spirit is the invisible teacher and instructor who is never wrong. He whispers to us in a still small voice, “this is the way; walk in it”. He is the faithful and the most accurate compass in life.
