Zec 4:10“Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?”
During the reconstruction of Solomonic temple, it was incomparable to the former temple in size and magnificence. Those who had returned from captivity undervalued the meanness of the second temple. The Lord urged them not to despise the small beginning because He was going to fill the present house with more glory . ‘ The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”* ( Hag 2:9)
Anything of great value comes from consistent growth and sheer patience during the process. Nothing that emerges instantly has a form of permanency. Large rivers cannot undervalue feeder tributaries and skyscrapers cannot demean the day of foundation.
Let not the twilight days of our lives be despised because by and by they will shine more and more. Whatever form of small beginning should be highly valued. With regular watering , manuring ,weeding ,pruning and purposeful determination , magnificent and glorious end product will come forth.
