Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, silver and gold have I none, but such as I have, I give thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
Peter and John were going to the temple for prayers at the 9th hour. As they approached the temple, there was a lame person at the gate called beautiful. When he saw the two apostles, he begged for alms. Peter told the lame man to look at them. The lame man gave attention to Peter and John thinking that it was now his time to get something. That is when Peter told him, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I have I give to you”
Peter and John could not give what they did not have. This man needed something better than the few coins he was expecting from the two Apostles. By the power of the risen Lord, the lame person was able to receive his miracle instantly. What a day for Him? He could not borrow alms any more because his health was restored.
The same case applies to us. We cannot give what we don’t have. The good news is that God has wired us with different gifting and abilities. This is what we are to give to the ailing world. Maybe it’s a word of encouragement, a shoulder to lean on, our time or even sharing what God has blessed you with. We are not empty. Our act of kindness can be of great help to that needy person. Freely you have been given, freely give , for its blessed to give than to receive.
