Psa 22:1 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning? Psa 22:2 O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent.
The Psalmist is calling on God in direct address with intensity and passion. From the statement , ” My God, my God” , we can definitely get to see the good relationship the Psalmist has with his God. The two must have been very close friends.
But at this particular time, something seems to have gone wrong. His prayers seems not to be receiving the heavenly attention as before. The Psalmist is gripped by a sense of loneliness and isolation. Despite him making persisted calls for help; the anticipated help seems not to be forth coming. The Psalmist does not give up, he continues in the place of prayer during the day and in the night season.
Sometimes we pray, and nothing seems to be happening. Our prayers seems unanswered and as a result we start feeling alienated and lonely. God is real, no matter how you feel. Keep praying, our God does not have a dustbin for prayers. He will show up in a big way!
Psa 22:24 For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from Him; But when He cried to Him, He heard.*
