Exo 19:4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.
This is one of the most wonderful expressions of how God delivered the Israelites out of the cruel hands of the Egyptians. The expression denotes great speed and swiftness applied by the almighty God in bringing them out of captivity. He did it with great ease, strength and the swiftness of an eagle.
They were brought not only to liberty but also into a covenant and communion with God. God reminded them of how he had brought them safely out of danger. They were the eye witness and needed no other proof or evidence. It was not their own effort at all. It was by what God did to them – God carried them on “eagles wings”.
And this is what happens to those who put their trust in God. Unlike the youth who eventually grow tired and weary and the young men who eventually stumble and fall, Isa 40:31… those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
