Dan 3:17,18 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace the God we serve is able to save us from it,and He will rescue us from your hand oh king. But even if He does not,we want you to know O king,we will not serve your God’s or worship the image of gold you have set up.
King Nebuchadnezzar erected a massive golden image. A decree was then issued that with the sound of the music, all must fall down and worship the image. The three young men understood what kind of God they were brought up worshipping and still continued to honour.
They were convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that the God they were brought up serving could save them. Even if He chose not to save them, they were not ready to bow down to the Nebuchadnezzar’s idol.
With such a conviction, they were cast into fiery furnace. Thank God they had such a strong faith. They were not consumed; they were fireproof. The Almighty God they had been serving came to their rescue.
Such kind of faith and conviction is admirable. If it was our turn, could we have bowed to the king’s demand? How do we respond to threats of abandonment, rejection and even punishment as a result of our faith? No matter what we may be facing, nothing should alter our conviction that our God is supreme even if we will face the fire because we are fireproof.
Isa 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.
