Pro 24:30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding;
Pro 24:31 and there it was, all overgrown with thorns; its surface was covered with nettles; its stone wall was broken down.
The natural law of planting and harvesting forms the guiding principle for kingdom blessings. It will be extraordinarily outrageous for one to expect blessings for work not done.
A slothful person dislikes work or any form of physical exertion. The writer made a visit to a vineyard of a lazy person. He found out that it was neglected; it was all overgrown with thorns, it’s surface was covered with nestles ; it’s stone wall was broken down. The owner was going to harvest very little or no harvest at all.
Whether you are a teacher, a gardener, an entrepreneur, a construction worker, a Pastor, a house wife or a security officer, work is rooted in God’s good creation and should reflect his glory. There are no blessings for work not done. God works through your work. Col 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men …for you are serving the Lord’s Christ.
