Rev 1:9 … was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,
Rev 1:11 saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and, “What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea”.
Apostle John was in the island called Patmos. The Romans used this small island ,off the coast of Asia Minor to exile political prisoners. John had been exiled in this small island because of his faithful witness of Christ. Apostle John was facing the persecutions and trials of the first century Roman world. They thought that they could completely silence him if they took him there.
John was in the spirit on the Lord’s day when he heard aloud voice, as of a trumpet. John was commanded to write down in a book/scroll of whatever he saw and heard and send it to the seven churches. Instead of curtailing his influence, they gave him a platform to influence the Christian faith for many generations.
No one can pin down a righteous person and successfully stop his calling. Every attempt to stop your calling will make it more amplified and beneficial to more people. Regardless of our location and prevailing circumstances ,we will blossom anywhere and everywhere we have been planted.
