Esther 4:16 “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”
Risk taking is one of the most admirable qualities of Queen Esther . Nothing great has ever been accomplished by people who are afraid of taking risks. ” A person who risks nothing , does nothing, has nothing, is nothing and becomes nothing” ( Leo Buscaglia )
Esther had a divine assignment. She knew very well that according to the laws of Mede’s and Persia, she could not approach the king uninvited. Mordecai had sent a word to her, encouraging her to take the risk in order to save the Jewish people from extermination. For three days, Esther prepared for this encounter by praying and fasting. When she appeared before the king, she gained both stature and the hearing.
For one to be alive, it means you risk dying. For one to go and sleep, it means you risk not waking up . Taking risk, means giving something else up. Risk taking for God, means going beyond what you can do in your own strength. Fear is not a good reason to say no. Esther saved the whole nation . You can allow God to use you to save one person, to make a difference to a few, to be an inspiration to your community, church and family.
