2Ch 20:12b We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.”(NIV)
This is a prayer of a helpless King Jehoshaphat of Judah, after Judah was surrounded by a vast army of the Moabites, Ammonites and the Meunites .This prayer was made to God with utmost sincerity of heart, acknowledging the fact that he was helpless and God was his only source of hope.
Sometimes we are faced with insurmountable challenges that even the best connections, networks, human wisdom and schemes cannot be of much help. It’s during such moments when we acknowledge our human limitations and turn our eyes to the only available source of hope. Psa 121:1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills–From whence comes my help?Psa 121:2 My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.
We may have come to the dead end of ourselves. But in the midst of uncertainty , we have hope because we serve a God who makes a way where there is no way. That which is like a sea and threatens to drown you will be a highway for your escape . Lets call on God and fix our eyes on Him. He will flatten the mountains for us.
