Job 14:7-9 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. 8Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; 9Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant”
These are the words of Job ; a man to whom everything seemed to be going on well. He was a rich man, had a good family and enjoyed a good relationship with God. God testifies of him in Job . Job 1:8 Then the lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.”
Despite having a good standing with God, he was not immune from the enemies attack. He lost everything in one day. Having gone through all the persecutions, he comes to a conclusion of our text today. That there is hope of a tree…Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant”.
Despite what he was passing through, he had hope in God that all would be well. He was very much aware that if a tree is cut down and not uprooted, it has a chance of sprouting again . Our hope also is in our God. We are a godly seed that cannot dry. When our enemies thinks it’s all gone, with the only scent of water, we’re going to sprout. Hold on to your faith. Christ who is in us is the Hope of glory. We are budding again in all aspects of our life in Jesus Mighty Name.
