Mar 4:26-27 He also said, βThis is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.
Jesus provides the parable of a farmer sowing seed. Just as in the Parable of the Sower, the farmer represents the Christian going out and sharing the Gospel (sowing the seeds) .The seeds represents the Gospel. So, Christians goes out and scatters the seed. However, Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.
The transformative power of God’s Word (sprouting and growth of the seed ) is not dependent upon man’s efforts. The Word of God has mysterious wonder working power to change a sinner to saint, tainted to blameless, blemished to spotless and is effective in itself without the knowledge of the sower. The seed is under the sovereign control of God.
Our primary responsibility as Christians is to scatter the seeds. We must make use of every ground that God presents to us. Our God will graciously cause the seed to sprout and grow. * We must also allow the seed to continue growing in us “…till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”(Eph 4:13).
