Psa 124:7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. KJV
A snare is a trap for catching birds or small animals. It’s a device often consisting of a noose for capturing small game. In our text today, the Psalmist says that our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the Fowler; the snare is broken and we are escaped.
At times we usually feel trapped by overwhelming odds. We try to do something but our efforts seems as work in futility. The breakthrough we yearn for seems very far and our prayers hits the ceiling and bounces back. We want to come out of certain addiction but we feel entrapped. May be our marriages, business, careers may be tumbling down. The enemy seems to be winning. The good news is that Jehovah God is breaking that snare in His mighty Name.
David compared this feeling to that of a bird outwitted and snared by a hunter. With God, there is always a way out because he is the creator of all that exists. No problem is beyond His ability to solve, no circumstance is too difficult for Him ( Life Application Bible). Let us realize that we can turn to our creator for help in our time of need, for He is on our side. God will provide a way of escape for the snare is already broken. Trust in Him for He is very faithful.
