Luk 9:26 “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.
The sense of shame is one of the strongest in human nature. Man will do anything and everything to ensure that he is highly regarded. At the same time, he will do what it takes to ensure that he avoids anything that can lower his status.
But when it comes to the matters of faith, believers ought not to shy away from what they believe. Those who stand firm and acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus in word and deeds gain more honor than dishonor. Identifying ourselves with our Redeemer is a plus and not a minus to our lives.
If we are ashamed of Christ here on earth, He will be ashamed of us when he return’s in glory and splendour. If we deny Christ before men, He will deny us before the father in heaven. We must never be ashamed that we are Christians. We must never hide our identity as believers because of fear and shame. Christ does not want secret followers.
