1Co 2:4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 1Co 2:5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
Apostle Paul was writing to the Corinthians reminding them that he did not go to them preaching in an eloquent speech, but simplified and concentrated his message to only knowing Jesus Christ and him crucified. He did not want to take the spotlight away from the power of God which would have made men cast their eyes and their faith on his wisdom and Education . He instead admonished the Corinthians that their faith should be on the power of God.
Today, the level of education, expertise and wisdom in the world has made great advancements. New inventions and innovations are coming up. Great technological advancements in different fields like medical, transport, agriculture, finance and others are experienced in order to make life easier.
Unfortunately, some of these inventions are making man divert his attention from depending on God and relying on the wisdom and expertise of men. Advancements in the medical science is making people rely wholly on the medical research done on their conditions. One can Google the symptoms they are having, search for the medication and the best doctors to treat the issue. This has made the healing power of God be sought as a secondary option.
As children of the kingdom, we ought to have our priorities right. We should seek the kingdom of God first. Our faith should not rest on the wisdom and expertise of men which is limited and becomes obsolete with the passage of time, but on the timeless power of God.
