1 Samuel 30:8
And David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” “Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.”
When David and his men reached Ziklag from Aphek,he found that the Amalekites had raided Negev and Ziklag burning it and taking captive the women and everyone else in it. So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. After weeping an action was needed. Therefore David enquired of the lord and received an assurance to pursue ,overtake and recover all.
Weeping after a loss ,a fall or failure is necessary but doing it forever is disadvantageous.
We aren’t created for retreat. Enemies get bolder when you get knocked down but a Knock down isn’t a knockout unless you give in and give up.
Some of God’s promises for our lives are stolen by the devil with an aim of keeping us in a wailing ,devastating and miserable condition. Clothing our minds with the spirit of pursuing ,overtaking and recovering should be the bare minimum in every “worthful” life battle .It is God’s delight and desire that we plunder the enemy’s camp, take back what belongs to us and retrieve even more than was lost.
