Ps 103:1Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The phrase ‘Bless the Lord’ is an expression of thankfulness offering adoration to the Lord . Thus the psalmist is joyfully announcing the wonderful things The Lord has done. He speaks of God’s personal blessings, His forgiving love and he ends with a universal call for all of believers to praise the Lord.
As we come to the end of year 2022, let our hearts flow with a sacrifice of praise to God for the much He has done for us through the year. It is very easy to wallow in the negative flip of the year which will make us blind to God’s goodness. Even in darkness there is beauty of the stars. Forget not God’s benefits: His steadfast love, forgiveness, healing, redemption, loving kindness and His mercies that kept us throughout the year.
As we take a personal audit of the year, we can’t but help linger on the awesome moments that lapsed for the past twelve months. Challenges almost swept off our feet but His Grace was the glue that kept us firm on a stable ground.
You might not have acquired your year 2022 resolutions or hit a jackpot but you made it through thick and thin so Bless the Lord!
