Mat 25:9 “But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.
Mat 25:10 “And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
Things fail to flow as expected when we refuse to embrace God’s gift of planning. Much of the sorrows ,pains, constant strains and turmoils can be avoided if we discerned what is expected and got prepared for the same. Planning is vital to stewarding and investing our limited time and energy well.
All the ten virgins were set for the wedding. They all had lamps and were excited. But the deeper they delved into the night, the more clearer it became who was wise and who was foolish. The wise had not left any gaps in their planning . They foresaw a possibility of the bridegroom coming late and their lamps running dry and put in place the necessary intervention measures. They planned and prepared well for the wedding.*
We plan with our hands open and heads bowed. We pray that the purposes of God will be done. The wise bridesmaids got to go to the party because they had planned and prepared well; they had the needed oil. The foolish ones had a costly omission in their planning. As we plan for our annual activities, let’s allow the Holy Spirit to lead the way.
