Zech 10:1 Ask the LORD for rain
in the time of the latter flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone.
Prophet Zechariah is one of the Minor Prophets that was instrumental in organizing and inspiring the Jews to finish rebuilding the temple during Ezra’s time,after captivity.
Ancient Israel had no irrigation system and relied solely on rain to water their crops. In a time of drought, nothing grew – so Israel relied on both the former rain (falling in autumn) and the latter rain (falling in spring).
The LORD challenged His people saying, “Be bold enough to ask Me, and I will answer your prayer. I will provide what I alone can provide.”..showers of blessings.
Let us not fear in asking God to give us rain! In His equitable providence, our needs will be met as we receive the showers of blessings.
