Mat 18:12-14 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? “And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. “Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.
The shepherd has one hundred sheep. One of the sheep wonders off and gets lost. The shepherd leaves the ninety nine sheep and goes looking for the one that disappeared. Eventually he finds it, brings it back to the fold and calls for a celebration.
The message is clear: every sheep is important. Although the shepherd has ninety nine sheep left, he leaves them and go looking for the lost one. When he finds it, he restores it with jubilations. Our God is always seeking the lost and rejoicing when each one is restored.
The heavenly shepherd cannot accept the loss of even a single believer . He values all believers equally and when they wander away, He looks for them and restores them . He is diligently concerned by their well being. Many may not see your worth. Others will celebrate when you seem to be going down. But our heavenly shepherd will not rest until you are restored.
