Luke 16:10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.(NIV)
Luk 16:12 “And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?
A steward is an old English word that means guardian or keeper of a house. He/she was a servant who was entrusted by their master to run the affairs of the household. As believers, we are called upon to care for what belongs to our master. We are entrusted with the earth and all that is in it. We are only caretakers and at the end, we will give an account of how well we managed what was given to us.
Jesus gave a parable of the dishonest servant, highlighting the importance of being trustworthy with other people’s property. Whoever can be trusted with little, can also be trusted with much. If you cannot competently manage the “little” that has been put under your care, you cannot also manage much. If you are dishonest with little, it is apparent that God will not trust you with much.
In today’s fast world and rising cost of living, men and women are under pressure to keep up. As a result, many fall in the temptation of being unfaithful stewards. If you cannot be trusted with someone’s else property, our Heavenly Father will also not trust you with your own.We should be prudent in how we handle wealth or resources given to us.
