Mat 9: 37-38 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest”.
This was said by Jesus after he had appointed and sent out the seventy two to every town and place. Jesus looking over the crowd said ” the harvest is plentiful “. In other words, men are like a field of grain waiting to be harvested but the workers are few.
Many people have prayed that God would send people to work in the harvest, and then God has surprised them and said: “Okay, I’ll send you”.( Applied New Testament Commentary – Thomas Hale). As believers, we need to prayerfully ask the Lord of the harvest to place us at the right place where we can effectively do ministry.
If the harvest was a lot then, then it has increased exponentially today – He is still hiring! We can apply to be sent out into his harvest. May our hearts be lifted to the place where we can see the abundance of the harvest . *You can plug in by participating in the harvest, praying “for the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest”, or financially and materially support the harvesters . We also need to study the Kingdom manual so as to have the wisdom of how to handle the harvest.
