2Sa 5:4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
2Sa 5:5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.
Leadership is not an inherent trait, but rather a skill developed with time. It’s a long journey which gives one an opportunity to learn, to implement , to fail and get up. One does not wake up one morning and all of a sudden become a great leader. Leaders are learners and learning is a life long process.
David was anointed as the king three times. The first anointing was done by Prophet Samuel when he was around fifteen years old (1sa 16:13). The second time was when the men of Judah anointed him king of the house of Judah(2Sa2:4). The Bible records that he was thirty years. The third time was when the elders of Israel gathered at Hebron and anointed him king over Israel( 2Sa 5:3). The whole process took a whopping twenty two years!
For you get to the peak of your career, aspirations, destiny, Enterprise etc, you must be prepared to go through the process . Joseph waited for over thirteen years before his prophetic dream was fulfilled (Gen 41:46). Moses waited for forty years in the wilderness before he had his divine encounter with the flaming voice of God. David waited in the caves and sometimes in exile until he took the crown and the throne. Just be patient as God takes you through the process.
