Phi 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
I am sure that we have all have come across someone that has an “ I am better than everyone else, especially you ” mentality. This kind of attitude occurs at multiple points throughout life. It is evidently there at work places, church, family , sports etc. This type of person may have a lot of money, talented , gifted or worse enough, none of the above. Incidentally, they wants everybody else to know it, or at the very least wants everyone to believe it .
Though social status and ranks will ever exist, Paul offers a different approach on how people with different capacities can coexist harmoniously with none feeling as nobody and none terming themselves as somebody. Valuing others especially those less endowed in the society , and appreciating their abilities, do raise their esteem and productivity .
Looking down on others and making them nobody does not make someone somebody. Someone is also better than you somewhere.
