Psa 27:5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. Psa 27:6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
During David’s time , a host who welcomed a visitor into his tent accepted the responsibility of keeping the visitor safe. David uses the same analogy when one takes refuge in the Lord. When we take refuge in him, he hides us in his pavilion; in the secret place of His Tabernacle.
Believers today are safe in Christ. He declares, Joh 10:28 “And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. Joh 10:29 “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand “. We are properly hidden under the cover of his tent and are protected against all our adversaries fiery darts.
In the midst of a world that is full of uncertainty, pain and suffering we have a hope and we have a shelter whose name is Jesus Christ. As the storms of life continue raining havoc on us, we can run to him and be safe. The Lord indeed is our hiding place and a shelter in the time of storms.
