Joh 21:17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.
Life is full of setbacks, failures, obstacles and challenges. Setbacks are critical part of your life. They are supposed to redirect you to where they are supposed to be. They allow us to return to our original state of motivation and hard work that led to our success in the first place.
Peter, the leader of the eleven disciples had a serious setback. He is in record of having denied Jesus three times despite having been given prior notification that he would do so. But after Jesus resurrection, Peter persevered to overcome his personal and spiritual setbacks . Jesus reinstated him and commissioned him to feed his sheep. By the grace of God, despite his imperfections, he became the leader of the Church and performed major exploits in his lifetime .
Setbacks are not a punishment. They are opportunities to learn and grow. They are a part of what makes us real and human. When we face delays, experience interruptions, encounter postponement and suffer disappointments, we don’t give up but continue holding on. God is preparing you for greater appointments !
