Mat 2:1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, Mat 2:2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
At the time of Jesus birth, some Magi saw a very bright star and interpreted it to mean that a great king had been born. They came seeking the ” one born the king of the Jews “. They followed his star and they sort him first at Jerusalem. When they drew near Jerusalem, they seem to have lost the sight of the star and sought him from the king’s palace.
The Magi were aware that the one born in Israel would be a king of universal significance. They had the faith to believe that they were following his star. To their amazement, Herod , the king was not aware that the king of kings had already been born. To king Herod, a rival king beside himself would mean trouble.
Our God can use any event in our lives to get us to the savior. Eventually, they found Jesus with his mother. They came all the way for one reason; to worship the new born king. They simply came to pay homage to him and offer him gifts . They looked for him until they found him. Wise men still worship Him.
Psa 145:18 The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. Psa 145:19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.
