Ezr 3:10 When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the LORD, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel.
These were the returnees of the Babylonian captivity rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem. When the builders laid the foundation of the temple, to them, that was a great milestone and could not go uncelebrated. It was time for song and dance with praise and thanksgiving to the lord ( Ezr 3:9). They didn’t wait until the temple was half way done or probably near completion or when fully completed for them to celebrate. They celebrated the completion of the laying of the foundation !
Be thankful and appreciate the little things in life because they all add up ; celebrate a reunion, a surprise visit, a meal,a birthday, the laying of the foundation of your dream house, a promotion at your work place, that child who has moved to the next class, the completion of a project at work, making the first deposit towards buying that car, learning a new skill and the list is endless.
Stop overlooking the beauty of small moments: – Enjoy the little things, because one day you may look back and discover they were the big things . The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spent smiling with someone who matters to you.( wordpress.com). Don’t only focus on the big things, take time to step back and appreciate the little things in life.
